North Carolina (NC) “County-Owned Surplus Properties” are occasionally available. These properties will not be advertised very well and you will need to contact the Tax Collector of each County.

NC is a decent tax sale state because the state conducts both tax lien and tax deed sales and the tax foreclosure sales are 4 times per year so the state has many bidding opportunities.
County-owned surplus properties are available in some cases.
