Over the Counter Tax Lien
Certificates
Over-the-Counter
Tax Lien Sales: Over-the-counter
liens are offered from May through
the end of August. Nebraska’s
annual tax sale is the first
Monday in March.
Nebraska's interest rate is 14
percent and the redemption period
is three years. The best time to
obtain OTC lists from NE is after
the March sales.
All tax lien auctions are round
robin, but OTC properties are
first come first serve.
Nebraska offers another way to bid
without attending a sale. Bidders
can send in bids prior to sale by
mail. At the annual sale you
can also have an agent bid for
you.
Nebraska
is an good tax lien state because the
interest rate of 14% per year is
favorable.
